This is a Reliability Expert role reporting to the R&D Team Manager in the Business Area – Electrification, Smart Power located in Shenzhen, China. As a reliability expert, you will have responsibility of life cycle goalkeeper for the CNILX SZO EVI products.

Your responsibilities

• Working as an individual contributor, being responsible for the reliability and robustness of the components and products.
• Working with global reliability manager and local EVCI R&D team to prepare and execute the reliability plan through all the stages of gate model for EVI.
• Assisting project manager and system architect to cascade marketing requirement and propose inputs for system architects and meet the quality plan.
• Providing knowledge and trainings to other design functional members. Executing, documenting and archiving all reliability plan in each gate and maintain these files.
• Being an expert to support other design team.
• Ensuring adherence to ABB integrity and safety rules and regulations.

Your background

• Ph.D., Master’s or bachelor’s degree in power electronics, electrical engineering, automation control etc.
• At least 8 to 10 years’ engineering background in the field of power electronics, international company with China design presence background is preferred, 3 to 5 design experience plus 5 to 7 years of reliability experience.
• Must have very good understanding of the power electronics product, with very good knowledge of reliability including the tools, equipment, test plans such as Components Design derating guideline, Dual source plan, High temperature & Lo temperature operation test, Thermal cycle test, Thermal shock test, Salt spray test, HALT test, HASS test, others.
• Must have proven and successful history, be result-oriented with good ability to collaborate with others with ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Good English and Chinese communication skill.
• Good computer skills (MS-Office, Outlook).
