Job Title: DSM China Maintenance Competence Leader

Report to: China O&RC Functional Excellent Operation

Business Unit: DSM Corporate Operation and Responsible Care

Location: Shanghai

The Challenge:

The working field is complex because of the need for leading (a large) change both technical and cultural — without having line authority.

Representing DSM, variety internal and external stakeholders like internally, BG leaders, global functional leaders, site managements and externally suppliers, etc. to communicate with makes the job complex and challenging.

A combination of high expertise (overview) level and strong communication and persuasive skills is essential.

The Position:

Maintenance and Improve Equipment Reiability

  • Assess the status and possibilities of the sites of DSM China on Maintenance, IER and MRO define gaps & opportunities and work out improve proposals with champions and work process owners;
  • Find the best implementations/practices/tools for Maintenance, IER and MRO via global contacts (especially membership of MARS group) and steal with pride. Make use of best practices/tools in and outside China and share/implement them around/at the DSM China sites in a continuous way;
  • Design and set up and organization to implement Manufex Maintenance, IER and MRO. Implement a lively network for maintenance and IER in Asia, establish year plans to structurally manage the joint improvements.
  • Manage the Maintenance, IER and MRO implementations of the sites on a project approach with professional targeting and follow up. Progress meeting with the local implementation owners, site/plant manager, to the wanted extent of implementation; evaluate and improve the implementation of Maintenance, IER and MRO periodically together with the site champions and work process owners and acknowledgement from the site managers;
  • Get actively engaged with the key people on sits and stimulate self supporting character of executing and follow up of the actions in compliance with SHE, on time and within budget;
  • Spot, train and coach site Champions and key users for Maintenance, IER and MRO work processes; bring the knowledge of the site Champions to a level of self support and participation in the local networks;
  • Develop an education and training program for the Maintenance, IER and MRO Champions and key users in the field of their competences for both work processes and technology; Implement these education and training in agreement with and support of the relevant site manager and work process owners;
  • Set standards and define the level of quality and quantity for the use of Maintenance, IER and MRO processes, tools and practices;

The Ideal:

  • MSc level in chemical or mechanical engineering discipline is preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in multi-national companies or a large-sized state-owned company in the field of Maintenance, IER and MRO within manufacturing.
  • Cross Culture.
  • Maintenance, IER and MRO experience.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence work process in particular Maintenance, IER and MRO materials management.
  • RCA/FMEA techniques and methodologies.
  • SAP PM or similar CMMS experiences.
  • Fluent English.
  • Broad knowledge of related manufacturing disciplines.
