Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking an Equipment and Electronics Repair Technician FIRST Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Indianapolis, IN facility. Position Overview: The e-Reman Repair Technician is responsible for the successful repair of production and test equipment, as well as non-conforming electronics components. The Technician will schedule and implement preventive maintenance on e-Reman equipment, as well as troubleshoot and repair unscheduled equipment failures to minimize downtime. The Technician is also responsible for diagnosing, developing a repair plan, and repairing any non-conforming electronic products. In this function you will: Repair Production Equipment: Maintain e-Reman equipment, including scheduling PM, managing spare parts, servicing equipment Repair Electronic Components: Analyze product that failed end of line testing through use of diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope) Develop and execute repairs required to achieve successful end of line testing Identify and replace SMT components on circuit boards if required using soldering/desoldering process Document the root cause of all failed equipment and products evaluated and communicate appropriately When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing environment, including soldering and other troubleshooting/repair capabilities Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years of electronic remanufacturing experience or within electronics industry Associate Degree in electronics field or pursuing degree Soldering certification IPC – A610 or relevant experience Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues with production equipment Position Criteria: Ability to follow established procedures with a focus on safety first Ability to problem solve, follow quality standards and understand schematics Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability Schedule and perform preventative maintenance as well as defining required spare parts and keeping in-stock Perform product rework as required with appropriate documentation Microsoft Office and Sharepoint experience Ability to work effectively within a team environment We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
