In this role, you will apply your experience in design and systems engineering to conduct stakeholder needs analysis, develop and maintain requirements and ensure the traceability and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will be a key-contributor to the design and release of our safe and reliable fail-operational vehicle platform. You will influence crucial and innovative aspects of the highly automated vehicle architecture, such as redundancy, safety and reliability. 

 
Responsibilities 
- Apply requirements engineering as a systematic approach to derive a full set of requirements from the project idea and goals to the product

- Conduct stakeholder needs analysis, agree upon deliverables, identify conflict areas and resolve such conflicts

- Apply creativity techniques to capture basic, performance and excitement factors to be considered in the definition of the top-level system specification

- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams and partners to develop system interface definitions, such as between the vehicle and the virtual driver

- Elicit, document and ensure the quality and traceability of requirements, utilizing DOORS, JIRA and Confluence

- Implement quality reviews and change management processes to keep requirements up-to-date and consistent

- Collaborate with the software, testing, and safety teams to ensure traceability and validation of the requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience OR a Masters degree from an accredited college/university with 1+ year experience required

- A degree focus in mechatronics, control systems, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field required

- An attached resume is required 

- Experience with systems engineering and requirements-driven product development principles, including requirements writing and analysis techniques required

- Knowledge of principles and applications of mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or software development required

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills required

- Experience using a variety of office and engineering software, including MS Office, DOORS, Confluence, and/or JIRA required

- Experience in fail-operational product development related to functional safety (ISO 26262 or IEC 61508) preferred

- Knowledge of architecture design of software modules and distributed systems preferred

- Experience with automotive or aerospace R&D preferred

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred

- Ability to work and collaborate with remote locations over different time zones preferred

- Strong presentation and communication skills preferred

- Excellent team player skills combined with the will to improve the product to its best preferred

- Enjoy working in a challenging, fast paced, and changing environment preferred
