The Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites candidates to apply for a Research Assistant position.

The successful candidate will work with Professor Yang Yue on Recursion Theory under a project on Lattice Embedding Problems in Local Degree Structures.

The main responsibilities of the position include doing original research work in the area of recursion theory. The overall guiding question is to find elementary differences between infinite levels of Ershov hierarchy. Specific topic is to find whether an a-r.e.degree can be maximal in the degree structure of b-r.e.degrees, where a and b are ordinal notations.

Skills: The candidate should have some experience in mathematical research, preferably in the area of recursion theory.

Experience: About 3-year research experience is preferred.
