Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities 
The appointee will mainly assist the Principal Investigator in conducting the research project “Development of Predictive Drivers Status Detection Algorithm for Traffic Accident Avoidance” (R&D Project 2019/1.7).  He/She will mainly be responsible for the following:
   
  • Conducting experimental setup and research as instructed by the Principal Investigator;
  • Contacting and recruiting participants;
  • Implementing algorithms and performing analysis;
  • Assisting in report writing and results presentation;
  • Conducting other research activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator; and
  • Providing effective office support and research related assistance.  


Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related area;
  • Previous research experience would be an advantage;
  • Very good command of English and Chinese;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and interpersonal skills; and
  • Preference will be given to those who are familiar with image processing techniques and machine learning algorithms.   


Compensation Package
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time contract.  Competitive compensation package including basic salary and end-of-contract gratuity will be offered to the right candidate.  Fringe benefits such as annual leave, staff development leave, staff learning and development sponsorship and medical & dental benefits will also be provided.
