Department of Communication Studies

The appointee is expected to conduct multiple research projects and provide administrative support on research- and knowledge transfer-related activities.

Duties include:

• liaising with different groups of people;
• planning and designing research projects;
• data collection and analysis;
• literature review;
• journal article writing with text and graphics;
• grant proposal writing;
• project promotion;
• assisting in knowledge transfer activities;
• preparing presentation materials; and
• project coordination.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (Media and Communication, Psychology and Sociology would be advantageous);
• relevant experience in academic research, especially for survey and experimental research;
• experience in journal publication (possess publication records would be advantageous);
• knowledge of and experience in a) data analysis using SPSS, and b) survey or experimental design;
• self-motivated, strong organizing skill and a good team player;
• able to work independently and responsibly; and
• an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing September 2020. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
