Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • Seeking funding support for research projects and/or participating in relevant research projects;
  • Conducting workshops and seminars on research;
  • Developing and offering undergraduate or postgraduate courses (including face-to-face, distance learning, and e-learning modes), where appropriate;
  • Contributing to departmental and programme administration; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean/Head of Department or his/her delegates.

 

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline;
  • A record of research and peer-reviewed publications, preferably with grant application and management experience, and active involvement in professional and community activities;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction; and
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a track record in conducting coastal wetland/microalgae research or related areas.

 

Compensation Package
Competitive compensation package including basic salary, end-of-contract gratuity and discretionary incentive (if any) will be offered to the right candidate.  Fringe benefits such as generous annual leave, staff learning and development sponsorship, medical & dental benefits and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
