Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC) aims to contribute to the improvement of human health by conducting cutting-edge research in reparative medicine and related subjects, by creating a new platform for synergies between academia and innovation in Sweden and Hong Kong as well as China, and fostering future leaders in both academia and industry.

 

Description of the Duties of the Position

Dr. Linxian Li’s Laboratory (https://ki.se/en/research/linxian-li) has long interests in developing novel functional surfaces and biomaterials for clinical applications. Committed to translating new materials for medical use, the Li group focuses on engineering functional materials for medical use and developing biomolecules as therapeutics. 

A research assistant position is immediately available. Under the supervision of senior lab staff, the Research Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks including:

  • Conducting experiments, documenting and analyzing research data
  • Lab procurement, storage and upkeeping of lab inventories
  • Daily lab routines to support the group
  • Lab-related admin tasks e.g. organizing lab meetings and preparing MTA
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate manager


The research projects will provide the opportunity for the Research Assistant to learn proper research procedures and techniques.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

Application is open to highly motivated junior scientists with strong background in life science. Experimental skills in molecular cloning, PCR, cell culture, ELISA, and fluorescence microscopy are considered as assets.

Applicants should have obtained a bachelor's degree or above from a recognized institution in related disciplines. Fluent communication skills in English (written and oral) are essential.

 

The Employment

This is a 12 months’ full-time fixed-term employment, with the possibility of renewal.

This assignment is located at MWLC, Hong Kong, and the employment will follow local labour laws in Hong Kong.

A competitive remuneration package including 10% on top of basic salary (fully-taxable) intended as pension will be offered in addition to MPF employer’s contribution and medical benefits.
