General Description

Applications are invited globally for Full Time research positions (lecturer, associate professor, professor, research assistant) at the HeXie Management Research Center (HXMRC) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, a joint venture established in 2006 by the University of Liverpool, UK and Xi’an Jiaotong University, China.

HXMRC is a unique research center for providing thinking power for better human society development by integrating wisdom of the east and the west, connecting history and future development, bridging the gap between theory and practice, nurturing innovation, as well as leading the mind and formulating development and management theory. He Xie Management Research Center (HXMRC) is also one sub-branch of XIPU New Era Development Research Institute (NEDRI) which is a community of a shared future for mankind, for international innovation ecology, for a modern green society, and for the transformation and upgrading of the regional economy and society.

Role Description

Academic research is one of the key activities in HXMRC. The main research achievements or academic responsibilities include:

• Think Tank research report

• 
  policy proposal

• 
  current affairs review

• 
  academic paper

• 
  project report
  

• teaching at IBSS or ILEAD

All research should be directed by the vision and mission of the center toward the objectives of center’s development by stages. Also, valuable alternative research that would serve the vision and mission of the center would also be encouraged. The research achievement would be evaluated by the center’s academic committee. The successful applicants are expected to teach in International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) or Institute of Leadership & Education Advanced Development (ILEAD).

The deputy director position will have 20% of his/her responsibility as manager of the center, and 60% as research, and 20% as teaching.

The two full time lecturer/associate professor/professor will have 30% of their workload in teaching, and 70% in research.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• being able to have international academic influence in relevant research fields such as management, humanities, economics, sociology, and philosophy;

• 
  being able to apply knowledge in doing research for HXMRC and develop research potential using accumulated experience from doctoral studies.
  

• being able to submit work papers or research reports to HXMRC;

• 
  being able to yield influential research paper or research product in the research field;
  

• being able to teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes

Key Qualifications or requirements for Full Time role:

• 
  PhD degree or being in the process of completing in relevant research fields such as management, humanities, economics, sociology, and philosophy
  

• Experience in academic research

• 
  Ambition in academic research pursuit

• 
  Experience or qualifications in teaching is an assetQualifications and Experience
