Research Assistant of Vet Ops

Duties

During your employment you will:

•

  employer(s), or breach any obligation owed to any other third party, or infringe any

  rights of any third party during the performance of your work duties contained

  herein;

• Hold the Company harmless from any losses or damages in connection with any

  dispute between you and any other third party.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

May perform duties of Research Assistant III Vet Ops in addition to the following additional duties:

• 
  Provide medical care by examination, treatment and advice to ensure adequate and

• humane veterinary support for small animals

• Animal care and medicant/treatment administration.

• Animal physical exams and sample collections.

• Demonstrates effective QC and documentation skills.

• Takes and develops radiographs, upkeep of equipment if any.

• Surgery

• Schedules

• Maintenance and upkeep of suite

• Assists in surgical procedures.

• Prepares instrument packs (autoclave sterilization).

• Monitors animal anesthesia and recovery.

• Dental procedures- root canals, routine cleaning, extractions.

• Schedules and organizes of outside consultants (ophthalmology, etc.).

• Administrative duties which may include USDA records, IACUC records/meeting minutes.

• Sample submissions.

• Collects and submits samples for various water quality and microbial analysis.

• Assists veterinarian in various medical procedures.

• Assists in development of new technical capabilities

• Assists in generating appropriate SOP’s for new capabilities

• Trains appropriate technical staff on procedures

• Reports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate

• corrective action, when necessary.

• Forms administrator

• Dispensing/receiving positive control drugs

• Performs other related duties as assigned

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

• 
  Provides assistance to other groups with technical and administrative functions as schedule

• permits

• Reviews and makes recommendations for modification in test system and procedures to

• avoid errors and improve efficiency

• Orders and inventories of supplies.

• Responds positively to changes in study schedules, study crises, and unplanned events by

• offering assistance where needed.
