The appointee will participate in a project to develop digitized visual inspection system for automating the detection process of natural and manufacturing flaws before/after laser cutting a plywood board. The system will be used to detect the natural texture and manufacturing flaws and distinguish imperfections from products.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a related discipline, and hands-on experience in the design and development of:
- Vision algorithm for detection system including image registration, image filtering and edge detection
- Vision system (hardware and software) on OpenCV
- Mechanical and electrical system
- Mechatronics device
- Control with PLC / DSP / ARM
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good teamwork skills are required. Preference will be given to those who have experience in computer vision, mechanical design, electrical design, mechatronics, CAD modeling and computer-aided engineering analysis by CAE tools, C++, Python, GPU programming. (Duration: 12 months)
