Joining us as an experienced Research Bio-Scientist within Oncology Bioscience, based in Cambridge, you’ll be able to push new boundaries in oncology research.
We’ll encourage you to develop novel therapeutics and biomarkers, identify new targets and publish your work. This role is fundamental in all stages of the drug discovery and development process – and as your experience grows, so will your role and career prospects.
What you’ll do
Main duties and responsibilities
Working collaboratively with in vivo pharmacologists across the oncology portfolio, you’ll apply your scientific and technical expertise to a number of project teams delivering efficacy and pharmacodynamic studies to aid drug discovery and development. As well as designing, planning and executing in vivo studies, you’ll be responsible for analysing and communicating complex scientific data. Being able to prioritise your own workload whilst demonstrating excellent team-working skills will be key to this role.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work collaboratively within cross-functional, Multidisciplinary project teams.
Essential requirements
Scientific degree (hons) or equivalent experience in a relevant area of cancer biology
Home Office licence holder modules 1-4 or A, B, C.
High ethical standards and a keen eye for animal welfare
Ability to analyse and communicate in vivo scientific data
Ability to prioritise own workload and to work as part of a team
Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a multidisciplinary setting
Desirable requirements
Expert in vivo skills that can be applied to oncology drug discovery
Experience in carrying out independent, relevant scientific research, ideally evidenced by publication of scientific posters or peer-reviewed papers
Cell culture experience
Experience performing formulations
