The incumbents will take part in research and development projects of AI and Robotic technologies for local industries/organizations.

Responsibilities:

The appointee will provide management in research & development tasks of the Centre and he/she is required to:

• Have strong technical skills/competence in at least one of following R&D areas:
• Algorithm development & implementation of Neural networks, AI and machine learning;
• Chatbots/Speech Recognition/Natural Language Processing (NLP);

• Novel sensors and actuators;
• Acoustics or Noise Cancellation
• MCU, PLC and embedded systems

• Have a good project management skill in project milestone monitoring & budget planning of R&D projects (e.g. ITF projects);
• Get hand-on to make prototypes/mock up samples for quick demos;
• To prepare BoMs and estimate materials lead time for in-house/small scale production processes;
• Have good knowledge in equipment/component/software selection for robots to meet project tasks; and
• Collect end-user requirements, coordinate project activities with different parties (including academic, private and public organizations) and monitor project progresses.

Requirements:

Applicants should have:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or related disciplines;
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in aforesaid R&D areas;
• At least 2 years in leading roles e.g. R&D manager;
• Hands-on experience in programming e.g. Python, C, C++;
• Experience in ITF or Government/University related projects is preferable;
• Knowledge of Linux system;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Immediate available is a definite advantage;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua.
• Candidates with less experience may consider as Senior Engineer, Engineer and Programmer
