Job Description
We are looking for a Research Engineer with knowledge in robotics, autonomy functions, and automation. In our research group, we shape the innovation roadmap towards the autonomous manufacturing of the future; in collaboration with our business units, leading academic institutions and government agencies. The Challenge: Research and develop software solutions for robotic systems to solve real-world industrial problems Contribute to the implementation of research projects all the way to the technology transition into products Collaborate with Siemens business units to understand the problem requirements in order to create and deliver solutions to customer needs Advance the state-of-the-art in the field, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences Present and communicate project results and ideas to internal and external project partners or at conferences The Candidate: Qualified candidates will have: Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar Strong software engineering skills. Hands-on experience in C++ and Python Computer vision experience Strong background in robotics (i.e. 2+ years). Practical experience with implementation and debugging of algorithms on real-world systems Experience using ROS/ROS2 Knowledge of embedded systems development, firmware, operating systems, computer architecture and hardware/software integration Knowledge of automation technologies, e.g. PLCs Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
