Computer Graphics for the Industrial Metaverse We are currently looking for brilliant and hard-working Research Engineers and Senior Research Engineers with deep know-how and interest in computer graphics, virtual environments and metaverse, who would like to join our Design and Simulation Systems Research Group of the “Simulation and Digital Twin” Technology Field! We are based in Princeton, NJ, but this position offers remote flexibility, so if you are comfortable working remotely, we are too! We need your help to build the world's most sophisticated modeling and simulation software stack to enable seamless and instantaneous design and simulation of engineering products and systems, in collaboration with our partner startups, leading academic institutions and government agencies. We are currently bringing onboard talented scientists and engineers like you to research and create a platform to enable a completely new design workflow, through intuitive geometric modeling, faster than real time simulations and easy assimilation of contextual information! The Challenge You will experience the excitement and challenges of industrial research and be part of a world class team. Your responsibilities will be: Collaborate with the team to fulfill our vision by developing novel fast and interactive design and visualization approaches. Perform innovative research and development in the area of interactive design in virtual environments Prototype, implement and evaluate the most promising algorithms for the numerical solution to real-world physical problems. Realize demonstrators of the developed technology on an industrially relevant use case Build Siemens-internal network to acquire and lead research projects to advance the technology and secure innovation Participate and lead projects with Siemens businesses, including research & development as well as technical consulting Communicate complex ideas and testing results effectively, both orally and in writing, and provide recommendations and support to internal engineering teams through accurate and effective written documentation Assist developing brand recognition externally by networking with industry experts, attending conferences and partnering with universities in the US The Candidate Qualified candidates will have: Strong background in latest computer graphics algorithms for rendering and simulation Experience with GPU compute-based algorithms using CUDA or compute shaders Knowledge in graphics pipelines with shader language, and familiarity with software development with graphics APIs such as OpenGL/Vulkan/WebGL. Strong coding skills in Python, C++, CUDA, and ability to write high quality code Familiarity with algorithms for real-time physics-based simulations of fluids, structures, clothes, etc… Experience with advanced graphics and visualization of content using systems such as Unreal, Unity etc., including programming own shaders and plugins (preferred) Knowledge and experience with Omniverse platform and USD file format (preferred) Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
