Research Engineer, Electrical Motors
Location: Munich (Germany), Boston (USA) or Limerick (Ireland)
The Automotive Advanced Technology (AAT) Group is a team of experienced research engineers creating technology innovations in the field of automotive electrification and sustainable energy.
To extend our team we are looking for an experienced electrical motor experts to help us drive system level improvements from ideation via feasibility studies to product definitions.
Typical responsibilities
- Explores system level improvements in the field of electrical propulsion systems
- Understands market technology trends as well as customer’s technical needs and system level problems
- Interacts on a global basis with product and system experts validating proof-of-concepts and prototypes
- Connects technical solutions with commercial viability
- Solid understanding of customer’s decision and design processes
- Works together with the sales organization and key customers on major projects
- Trains and mentors colleagues by sharing system and application knowledge
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree, 5+ years of experience in automotive/electronics industry system engineering, preferably working in the field of automotive traction motors
- Expert knowledge of electrical motors and motor control algorithms
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in English (other languages are a benefit but not essential)
- Strong team player capable of working in a multi-location international team
- Able to work effectively within global organization with complex matrix structures and cross functional teams
- Understands and can articulate where work goals tie into the organization’s objectives
- Awareness of organization’s competitive markets and position
- Continuously seeks to improve functional and professional skills and knowledge
