Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Research Facility Associate, are to: 

 

  • Support Safety and Health initiatives with site operation teams;
  • Perform and verify the Site Responsible Researcher (SRR) duties are completed accurately and timely adhering to regulations, stewardship protocols and processes including: field monitoring, communication and documentation of activities;
  • Train and develop people including: Interns/Co-ops, new Research Associates and contract employees at the site;
  • Be responsible for achieving operational excellence by executing high quality field research through collaboration with site operation teams, including: alerting Research Scientist(s) of issues arising from seed inventory discrepancies, safety concerns, and plot quality data capture errors;
  • Learn and apply scientific methods and non-routine techniques for analysis as directed by Research Scientists, protocols, and work instructions to deliver quality results based on data collection matrix;
  • Assist with the cross regional evaluation of research protocols;
  • Record metrics such as key process indicators (KPIs) to help drive continuous process improvements and provide feedback to Research Scientist(s) on suggestions to achieve improved benchmarks from growing season to growing season;
  • Execute day-to-day coordination of lab/field tasks;
  • Plan, support and allocate routine workflow to other team members and contract employees.

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor of Science degree with at least one year of experience in Agricultural research or Ag technical field;
  • Excellent communication – oral, written, for diverse circumstances and audiences;
  • Results driven;
  • Ability to influence within a matrixed organization and across functions;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Proficient at utilizing productivity software (e.g. MS Office and JMP);
  • Valid driver’s license. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of time.

 
Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Experience and/or knowledge with PLC & Control System Programming;
  • Experience and/or knowledge with Data Base and Cloud Connections; 
  • Experience and/or knowledge with Scada and Panels.
