Job Description

China Economic Research Programme

To strengthen its policy research on China, the Faculty of Social Sciences has set up a China Economic Research Programme (CERP). The appointee will be responsible for (a) coordinating related research, projects and activities related to the Belt and Road Initiative with various stakeholders; (b) organizing workshops/conferences/activities and corporate training workshops related to the Belt and Road Initiative; (c) travelling to mainland China and the Belt and Road Initiative regions occasionally; (d) securing resources for long-term sustainable development of the related projects; (e) expanding the network and exerting considerable influence particularly in mainland China and the Belt and Road Initiative regions.


Requirements

Applicants should (i) have a first degree or above in Social Science, preference will be given to candidates with at least 10 years of work experience, particularly in a senior management position and postgraduate degree holder or candidates with extensive knowledge in business, ethnic diversity and culture along the Belt and Road Initiative regions; (ii) have passion and interest in the Belt and Road Initiative; and (iii) be able to work independently and collaboratively.


Salary and Benefits

Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity for the eligible appointee.


The appointment will normally be made on an initial contract for up to one or two years with the possibility of contract renewal subject to mutual agreement.
