Job Description

Intel's Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics group (AXG) delivers Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and Parallel Computing Technology. If you are passionate about computer graphics and want to work with leading graphics researchers on Intel's latest GPU/CPU architecture, then AXG has opportunities for you.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Conduct research in real-time 3D rendering to invent new techniques or technologies that advance the field.
  • Produce a long-term technology vision that impacts Intel graphics hardware and software products.
  • Implement and analyze new real-time rendering algorithms or other highly parallel algorithms.
  • Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.
  • Potentially impact Intel graphics hardware and software products and publication in industry or academia.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience, or a PhD degree with at least year (internship) experience.  Degree should be in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or a related field.

Your experience should be in any of the following areas: 

  • Developing software in C++ together with programmable shaders and GPU compute.
  • Developing advanced graphics algorithms in domains such as raster graphics, ray traced based graphics, global illumination, depth of field, motion blur, acceleration structures, etc.
  • Creating real-time rendering effects using current and upcoming graphics APIs, Vulkan (OpenGL), Direct3D 11/12.
  • Comprehending, analyzing and extending techniques described in rendering literature.

Preferred skills and experience that will make you stand out:

  • Background in relevant industries including video game development, rendering software or visual effects in film.
  • Background in applying machine learning techniques to graphics with familiarity with Pytorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, etc.
  • Background in writing publications and/or presenting at conferences or other events.
  • Experience using profilers and debugging tools to analyze GPU architectures and/or GPU workloads to identify and remedy systems performance bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with parallel programming environments such as TBB, CUDA or OpenCL.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
