Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Research Associate, Oncology, are to: 

 

  • Assist/Contribute to the development of new research strategies and approaches in oncology;
  • Establish and maintain state-of-the-art in vitro and in vivo pharmacology platforms;
  • Support and potentially lead international, cross-disciplinary teams to support early and late development activities;
  • Integrate external innovation through alliances, collaborations and licensing activities;
  • Independently plan, conduct and analyze in vitro and in vivo studies;
  • Manage Labs with regard to ordering (chemicals, kits), setup and maintenance of research equipment;
  • Take responsibilities to ensure compliance with guidelines regarding lab safety (e.g. biosafety) and animal welfare;
  • Supervise students.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor or Master or equivalent experience/qualification (BTA,) in pharmacology, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy required;
  • 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/academic R&D required;
  • Deep understanding of cancer biology especially depending on focus, in-vivo and in vitro pharmacology;
  • Understanding of drug discovery processes and development process;
  • Experience in state of the art in vitro and in vivo laboratory techniques (gain and loss of function cell culture experiments, cellular target engagement assays, expression studies, in vivo studies on mouse and rat with focus on xenograft studies with po, ip and iv treatment, establishment of orthotopic and transgenic mouse models);
  • Leadership and networking skills;
  • Fluency in English.
