The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) has been delivering industry-leading custom logic solutions to customers since inventing the world's first reprogrammable logic device in 1984. To expand the technology that provides us with advantages in programmable solutions, we are looking for a phenomenal engineer to join our high-powered team.


As a Research Intern in the PSG CTO Office you will create the technology we will use in our future programmable logic products. You will be an essential part of an applied research and pathfinding team who are inventing and proving out technology to grow Intel's competitive advantages. In this role your work will span from specifications and microarchitecture to detailed design tool flow and development. This is a hands-on development role that will develop your background in circuit design, die-to-die interfaces, logic synthesis, EDA tool development, debugging and problem solving.  The research position will center on multi-die heterogeneous integration of chiplets with FPGAs.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a fast-learner, and willing to work well in a team setting. 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the willing to assess state-of-the-art research in the area of heterogeneous integration. 

  • The candidate will have the ability to perform in a research setting where they will be willing to navigate through unknown / unsolved problems and arrive at multiple solutions and assess their tradeoffs. 

This internship position has a length of 3 months with the possibility to extend it as per business' needs.


Qualifications

Candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must be pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.

6+ months of experience in the following:

  • Electronics system design (chip and/or module development)

  • Verilog RTL design

  • Synthesis and/or timing closure.

  • EDA tool development for logic analysis and/or synthesis.

  • Tapeout experience in an advanced process node


Preferred Qualifications

6+ months of experience in the following:

  • C/C++ and/or Python,

  • Simulation and modeling tools

  • Languages such as MATLAB.

  • Device testability feature development.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
