About the Role:
Join our global team at Alibaba.com, the original B2B e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, to shape the future of business-to-business commerce in Europe. We’re looking for a passionate Middle Researcher to focus on key European markets (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands) and leverage your language skills and cultural insights to drive product and market strategies. You’ll work closely with product, design, and business teams to uncover actionable insights that meet the needs of European businesses.
What You’ll Do:
● Conduct market research (e.g., desk research, competitor analysis, user interviews, surveys) to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities in European markets.
● Analyze data (qualitative and quantitative) to generate insights that inform product decisions, content strategies, and localization efforts.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into actionable recommendations for improving the user experience on Alibaba.com.
● Support the development of region-specific content, campaigns, and features tailored to European audiences.
● Stay updated on regulatory, cultural, and economic developments in key European markets to ensure compliance and relevance.
● Work with stakeholders to prioritize research initiatives and align with business goals.
● Share insights through reports, presentations, and team workshops to foster collaboration and decision-making.
Who You Are:
● A researcher with excellent cross-cultural communication skills, capable of conducting interviews in German or Italian and communicating with the team in English (both written and spoken).
● 3–5 years of hands-on experience in market research, business analysis, or a related field.
● Strong understanding of European market dynamics, with familiarity in at least 2–3 of the following regions: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands.
● Experience designing and executing research studies using mixed methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, competitive benchmarking).
● Proficiency in analyzing data and presenting clear, actionable insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
● Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse business environments.
● Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or B2B platforms.
● Familiarity with AI tools or automation to streamline research workflows.
● Knowledge of European digital regulations (e.g., GDPR, local consumer laws).
● Background in behavioral analysis, statistics, or data visualization.
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s a plus).
● Portfolio or examples of past research projects demonstrating impact.
