Reservation Agent

The Reservation Agent handles reservations enquiries and employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations, maximizing hotel room rates and occupancy using effective up selling and suggestive selling methods. Responds to communications from guests, travel agents, and referral networks concerning reservations and to include group reservations received. Creates and maintains reservation records, prepares letters of confirmation and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure the well-organized process of reservation by email, telephone, central reservation systems referral or from the sales office, other hotel departments, and travel agents;
  • Update reservations ensuring a flawless check in and check out process;
  • Prepare letters of confirmation;
  • Process cancellations and modifications in timely manner;
  • Process and monitor advance deposits/prepayment on reservations;
  • Communicate and verify information regarding reservations to the appropriate party.
  • Maximize room revenue through the conversion of telephone calls into sales;
  • Utilize effective upselling techniques;
  • Understand and take reservations to support the revenue management strategies employed by the Sales & Marketing leader in the hotel.
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service;
  • Be fluent on all hotel products and services;
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way;
  • Handle customer queries and complaints relating to Rooms Reservations.

Your experience and skills include:

  • 3 years of guest service / hotel experience with one year in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in Ultra Luxury Hotel or Resort is preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, verbally or written, other languages are great advantage
  • Organized, highly motivated and driven to succeed
  • Able to work under pressure both individually and with the team
  • Attention to details and confidence in guest interaction
