Reservations Agent

  What you will be doing:
• Respond to all reservation requests and incoming calls in a courteous, efficient, professional and friendly manner in adherence to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards.
• Responsible for making room reservations for the Leisure/Group/Tour & FIT segments as assigned within the department. Each segment has its own task and processes.
• Assist Director of Revenue Management & Reservations Manager in carrying out his or her duties as requested including implantation and support of revenue strategies. 
• Ensure that the Reservation Daily Check List is completed.
• Maintaining and responding to all requests received in the Reservations email inbox.
• Convert reservation sales calls to actual bookings.
• Assist with Internet Reservations and housing processes.
• Correspond with guests/clients to meet and then exceed expectations via fax, email and or by phone.
• Maintain good working relationships with Global Reservations Centre, Travel Agents and external /internal Guests.
• Prepare Front Office for success by setting up reservations in accordance with standard.
• Blocking guestrooms for incoming reservations based on specific guest requirements.

Your experience and skills include:

• Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management an asset.Strong keyboard skills, 40 WPM.
• Excellent telephone manner mandatory - must enjoy working on the phone and talking to guests/travel agents/internal colleagues all day.
• Sales experience an asset.
• Empathetic tendencies and compulsion to exceed guest/co-worker expectations.
• Previous reservations experience an asset.
• Previous experience with Opera (Micros-Fidelio) an asset.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Email.
• Able to work as a contributing member of a team as well as independently.
• Ability to work fluctuating shifts.
• Possess a strong command of the internal workings of hotel Rooms & Sales division.
