What you will be doing:

  • Respond to all reservation email requests and incoming calls in a courteous, efficient, professional and friendly manner in adherence to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards
  • Ensure the Reservation Daily Check List is completed
  • Convert reservation sales calls to actual bookings
  • Maintain good working relationships with Global Reservations Centre, Travel Agents, and external/internal Guests 
  • Blocking guestrooms for incoming reservations based on specific guest requirements
  • Assume responsibility for reservation duties assigned 
  • Manage all aspects of FIT reservations
  • Liase with Tour & Travel Sales Team and Tour Distribution & Services 
  • Client contact for rooms-only bookings initiated through Sales, Conference Services, Accounting, and Front Office for small groups
  • Ensure the accuracy of reservation-related details for small groups 
  • Liase with Accounting when needed on deposits, commissions, and credits/rebates
  • Attend departmental meetings as well as client related meetings as required 
  • Make certain to be familiar with fire and emergency procedures
  • Other responsibilities may be required 

Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential
  • Previous reservations experience a strong asset
  • Certificate/Dipolma/Degree in Hospitality Management a strong asset 
  • Strong keyboard skills, 40 WPM
  • Must have effective communication skills - must enjoy working on the phone and talking to guests/travel agents/internal colleagues all day
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP an asset
  • Knowledge of Micros PMS/Opera an asset
  • Must have a good command of the English language
  • Available for shift work including weekends and holidays

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

  • Frequent sitting throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
