FIT & Reservations Coordinator
You are a multi-tasker and are able to work independently, performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties to support your team. You communicate well with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues, and update your team on various projects.

What you will be doing:
- Respond to all reservation requests and incoming calls in a courteous, efficient, professional and friendly manner in adherence to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards
- Responsible for making room reservations for the Leisure/Group/Tour & FIT (Free Independent Traveler) segments as assigned within the department.
- Ensure that the Reservation Daily Check List is completed
- Respond to all faxed reservation requests in a courteous, efficient, professional and friendly manner
- Maintaining and responding to all requests received in the Reservations email address
- Convert reservation sales calls to actual bookings
- Conduct "Competitive Call Arounds" when required
- Correspond with guests/clients to meet and then exceed expectations via fax, email and or by phone
- Maintain good working relationships with Global Reservations Centre, Travel Agents and external /internal Guests
- Liaise with Front Office Tour Agent to ensure arrival preparations are completed as appropriate.
- Assume responsibility for reservation duties as assigned
- Complete office administrative duties where required (filing, internal/external mailing, re-stocking of office equipment etc)
- FIT Reservations Processing & Maintenance
- Liase with Tour & Travel Sales Team, and with Tour Distribution & Services
- All other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management an asset
-
Strong keyboard skills, 40 WPM
-
Excellent telephone manner mandatory - must enjoy working on the phone and talking to guests/travel agents/internal colleagues all day

Sales experience an asset

Empathetic tendencies and compulsion to exceed guest/co-worker expectations

Previous reservations experience a strong asset

Previous experience with Opera (Micros-Fidelio) an asset

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Email

Able to work as a contributing member of a team as well as independently

Ability to work fluctuating shifts
Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):
- Frequent sitting throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
