Restaurant General Manager (Full Time)

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director, Food & Beverage, your essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Further developing and growing Outlets positioning as one of the top dining choices in Edmonton and Canada.
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent service by maintaining high staff morale and team spirit through active communication, training, and coaching.
- Motivating, leading, coaching, and monitoring the performance levels of all team members.
- Developing training programs for the Restaurant and Assistant Restaurant Managers to ensure continuous growth.
- Adhering to the budgetary guidelines established for the outlet (labor, productivity, revenue, and expenses), and participating in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Working in conjunction with the Chef and Food & Beverage Director on promotions, menus, and special events. Creating and innovating new ideas and promotions to generate revenue.
- Upholding the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.
- Assisting with research and investigating wines and new products. Managing the beverage inventory.
- Promoting teamwork as a strong component of the daily service culture.
- Participating in service as necessary in accordance with restaurant needs.
- Controlling stocks for daily use in the restaurant to ensure service requirements are met.
- Attending and participating in the daily Food and Beverage meetings, and conducting daily shift briefings.
- Actively participating in the Edmonton restaurant community.
- Performing any other related tasks as assigned by management.
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a department head in Food & Beverage, or in a similar role within a fine dining environment.
- Have a passion and drive for food, wine, spirits, and hospitality, and previous experience leading a restaurant team.
- Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management is an asset.
- A sommelier designation and/or previous experience in a luxury hotel are also considered assets.
- Thorough working knowledge of financial reporting structures, including budgets, labour, productivity, revenue, and expenses, and a demonstrated history of financial success for restaurants under your operation.
- Proven leadership skills, including coaching and training abilities, effective motivational skills, as well as strong problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are a service-oriented team player.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
