Job Overview
Provide support for rapid problem solving as it relates to failed components. Monitor quality for Detroit products and provide feedback through the warranty system. Initiate vendor recovery and corrective action through collaboration. Maintain minimum cycle time for material processing.
Responsibilities - Process returned warranty material and provide material disposition & analysis.
- Disassemble/Assemble the field return parts for the daily or weekly team reviews.
- Preparation and timely submissions of warranty inspection triage reports.
- Provide assistance to problem solving teams in identifying failure modes and providing root cause analysis.
- Assist in providing technical analysis and coordination for on site joint inspections with the component supplier.
- Assist in developing technical component warranty evaluation documentation consistent with service and warranty documentation.
- Interface with internal departments, repair facilities and suppliers to gather information, report findings and develop documentation as needed.
- Attend meetings, as required, to assist in gathering information, reporting findings and assist in the decision making process concerning warranty claims issues.
- Establish a strong working relationships with all members of the problem solving teams.
- Determine test and equipment needs for the return material area.
- Assist with engine tear down and inspection as needed.
- Maintain a work area that is within the Daimler and TOS guidelines.
- 3 years of related experience and a high school diploma (or equivalent); or an associates degree with 1 year of related experience required
- Degree focus in Automotive Service Technology, Ferris State University Automotive Engineering Technology or Engineering Technology is preferred

- Ability to understand and communicate diesel engine components functions including proper usage and basic failure analysis required.
- Strong written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal and computer skills are required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of truck or automotive technology, product knowledge nd working knowledge of PC-based software is required.
- Must be well organized, detail and process oriented, have a high degree of initiative and the highest degree of integrity required.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs required.
