Reward Insights Partner

We are looking for customer service-oriented C&B professional to join our global reward team.  Critical requirements include a passion for compensation and benefits, excellent analytical capability, an eye for detail, a curiosity for knowledge, the ability to translate technical analysis into useful, business focussed insights as well as strong communication skills.

As a member of the broader Reward & Inclusion community, you will be a senior member of analytics team who utilise our suite of core enabling HR technology (MarketPay, Workday, ServiceNow, MicroStrategy etc.) to execute a range of compensation activities, working closely with the global reward team and Business / HUB aligned reward partners.  With the team, you will continuously identify and implement process and technology improvements to our way of working in HR and our interactions with partners.

Candidate Focus & Challenge:

  • To proactively understand the various needs of the business, as identified globally, regionally and locally, and how these needs are met through provision of compensation and benefits.
  • To understand the impact of current and evolving business needs on the support requirements from the Global C & B team in partnership with the HR community.
  • Ensure consistent, high quality job analysis and evaluation, pay benchmarking, analysis of C & B surveys and annual salary budgeting data is provided.
  • Consistently develop the ability to deliver and report on the annual rewarding performance cycle (annual salary review, bonus and LTI awards) and all other C & B activity.
  • With the team, continuously build a strong understanding of industry dynamics (e.g. job market trends, legislative requirements), proactively identify issues (e.g. in retention or recruitment) to explain the underlying trends and issues. 
  • Review and continuously develop global reporting on all C & B activities (for example retention, base pay changes, recognition, allowance usage) working with relevant partners on all up and downstream impacts.
  • To act as an expert resource providing advice on C & B policy development, integration issues (e.g. mergers and acquisitions), contributing both within own area and providing advice across the wider HR community.
  • Manage the global compensation IT tools, identifying future opportunities for efficiencies.  Identify new opportunities for simplification through the MRP tool / other IT solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of any new global C & B tools, ensuring roll out to all relevant countries is consistently under-taken with a continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Ensure the team deliver updated MRPs annually for agreed countries, with associated insight on changes over last 2 – 3 years, anomalies, critical changes and impacts.
  • Lead the delivery of workshops on compensation global principles, practices and processes across the HR teams.
  • Oversees and provides expert input to local countries in their delivery of pay benchmarking, annual pay round and budgeting activity, job analysis and evaluation and analysis of C&B surveys through the Reward Partners.
  • Works with Reward Partners to ensure that the current and future compensation needs of the business are being met and anticipated.
  • Ensure ongoing job evaluation and execution of the job catalogue reflects business requirements.
  • Look for opportunities to improve process execution and technology usage to prioritize and implement improvements.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Data Handling / Analysis:
    • Highly competent in handling large quantities of data and producing insights with a keen attention to detail and focus on data accuracy;
    • Thinks analytically and effectively problem solves using creative solutions.
  • Compensation & Benefit Knowledge & Experience
    • Brings up to date knowledge of external C & B and performance management practices (local, regional, global) to the analysis of internal data, to challenge the AZ approach while acting as an expert resource providing advice and guidance;
    • Understands legal and consultative frameworks across countries and the impact upon development of C & B practices;
    • Has experience of different benefit provision, monitoring cost and financial impact of provision and competitiveness of package.  Can projects future funding requirements and works with providers to maximum effectiveness of provision;
    • Has been responsible for managing and maintaining reward policies, ensuring adherence with global policy, regulatory, legal and best practice competitive approaches in markets under purview;
    • Experience of managing budgets required for delivery of reward programmes;
    • Seen as an expert by the business in all matters relating to the reward offering, advising reward partners and HR teams on all issues.
  • Software / Other Experience
    • Experience in Microsoft applications;
    • Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills;
    • Enjoys working as part of a lively and hard-working team, performing together to meet deadlines;
    • Able to manage competing tasks efficiently and prioritise workload within a matrixed team environment.

Other – general

  • Able to communicate fluently in English
  • Additional language skills desired but not required – German, Spanish, French and Italian

Other – qualifications

  • Degree Educated or equivalent; Master’s degree in related field
  • Expert knowledge of policies, process, procedures relating to C & B
  • Experienced in using salary surveys – submitting data, extracting and analysing data
  • Experienced in the use of a variety of job evaluation tools
  • Expert user of excel / database management
  • Project management – training for Prince2 or equivalent qualification
  • Competent in a full range of mathematical calculations/activities relevant to the area of work
