Overview:
Risk Management Manager role will participate in the design, development, and execution of programs and initiatives supporting the risk management strategy of Amgen Dun Laoghaire (ADL) in line with the Amgen network. This role is responsible for managing work plans, identifying data needs, gathering data (quantitative and qualitative) analysing data, developing recommendations and creating presentations around recommendations. The prospective candidate will be responsible for supporting ADL’s Business Units with their operational risks in alignment with the overarching Risk Management and Business Continuity programs to ensure consistency and integration of risk into business processes. The site is focused on continuous improvement of all work processes and practices and all colleagues are required to be flexible in this regard. This means that they may be asked to carry out additional tasks that are related to the key responsibilities described below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides support to ADL operations business unit in the execution of the site risk management program.
- Participates as a core team member of the Site Risk Management team providing risk activity review, prioritization, and overall risk program support for the respective business unit. The site risk management program at ADL includes Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Operational Risk Assessment and Supply Risk Mitigation strategies for the site and network.
- Provides guidance to Risk Owner(s) to determine how projects and/or process changes may impact the risk portfolio of the business unit.
- Builds technical expertise and integrates with other site processes to ensure success, continuous improvement, and longevity of the Risk Management program at the site.
- Acquires and shares risk information from other ADL business units, the network of Amgen
sites, or external sources to implement lessons learned and best practices.
- Advises risk owners on the risk assessment tools most suitable to meet risk program requirements.
- Supports and leads facilitation of risk management activities.
- Identifies and facilitates required operational risk assessments in business unit projects to
manage any impact to the risk profile of the business unit.
- Ensures that people executing risk management activities are properly trained in accordance
with governing procedures and risk program standards.
- Manages all record keeping required to maintain the risk portfolio. Meets with Risk Mitigation Owners regularly to monitor the status of all risks and actions defined in the portfolio for the business unit.
- Manages all reporting and documentation needed to support Risk Management governance.
- Provides all administrative support required by the Risk Management Governance Team.
- Ensures alignment of business unit activities with site risk management program, corporate
policy, standards, and strategies.
Basic Education & Experience
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device and/or biotechnology Industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management, Risk Management, Business with 5+ years of relevant work experience with experience in Inspection, Packaging and/or Solid Dosage operations/manufacturing environment is required, and EH&S experience desirable.
Direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA) preferred.
Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies (FMEA) preferred - knowledge in iRisk, Frontline Live, Send word now software applications.
Strong Technical writing skills and detail-oriented supported by solid analytical skills.
Good organizational and facilitation skills with ability to present and translate data and information into a meaningful message for stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Self-starter, highly motivated individual that can work under minimal supervision.
Team player that naturally complements with peers, clients and all levels of the organization.
Works effectively with diverse departmental groups with strong influencing skills.
