This is a Robotic Application Engineer role reporting to the Engineering Manager II in the Business Area - Robotics & Discrete Automation located in Shanghai, China. ABB Robotics provides manufacturers, and selected partners, with ingenious, efficient and reliable industrial robots, and robot-based systems, that elevate the nature of work and improve productivity, workplace safety and process quality.
Your responsibilities
- Participating in engineering projects and analyze customer new or special requirements together with proposal engineer, implementing pre-engineering study and development.
- Implementing customer’s welding & cutting sample test together with robots and deliver test report.
- Engaging welding sample inspection, including macroscopic observation, metallography examination etc. in welding process lab.
- Being responsible for daily management of robotic welding & cutting lab, participating in engineering test and development of robotic new application in Tier 1 market.
- Supporting R&D for robot welding & Cutting related software and hardware products verification and validation.
- Investigating existing successful application cases, especially in robotic laser welding and cutting application, providing technical support for engineering projects
- Organizing knowledge sharing periodically inside department.

Your background
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in material process engineering, welding engineering, or similar.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience in industry robot is preferred, C/C++/C# programming experience is preferred.
- Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Good computer skills in MS Windows / Office and other applications.
- Must be a team player.
