A new & exciting Robotic & Cognitive Centre (RCC) team was established within AstraZeneca in 2018 to create internal shared services capability to deliver on the broad potential for Automation across the enterprise. Since then the RCC has been scaling process automation across our different functions, and is now a credible, fully formed team, that is continually building increased levels of interest & demand.
To support the continued expansion of the RCC and the scaling of process automation solutions across AstraZeneca, we are now seeking an RCC Operations Manager. This role will work with GBS and IT teams to drive operational performance monitoring for the development of / reporting on live automations; drive the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives; and ensure adherence to and evolution of RCC quality and compliance standards.
The role holder should have a strong interest in automation & analytics and be familiar with system delivery using Agile development methodologies. This experience will be combined with an analytical mindset, awareness of business or IT operations management, an ability to communicate and collaborate across functional boundaries, and experience in customer and stakeholder engagement.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Monitoring of operational performance
Track and report on the automation pipeline & delivery status; manage operational performance analytics and benefit reporting for live automations
Work with IT to ensure effective service management of live automations; support in the identification and investigation of problem areas, driving root cause analysis where necessary
Manage the assessment and tracking of business change requests
Proactively manage RCC wide risks and issues, and support the team in the assessment of risk factors for proposed automation projects
Drive Continuous improvement
Collaborate with others in the RCC team to drive the identification of continuous improvement opportunities across the RCC delivery lifecycle and embed new ways of working
Manage and report on customer satisfaction survey and improvement actions
Own and manage effective business training material in relation to the management of ‘digital workers’; assist with team capability framework development, and the implementation of learning & development initiatives (as required)
Maintain and evolve RCC quality and compliance standards
Support the ongoing evolution of the RCC Operating Model, Playbook and Standards Framework
Work with IT, Business quality and compliance teams to ensure that RCC methods and tools continue to align to required standards
Support the Operations Lead with other general RCC governance activities / ad-hoc reporting
Essential requirements:
Experience of technology implementation (RPA, ERP, workflow etc) and an understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
Service management or other business operations experience
Definition and monitoring of operational procedures
Strong analytical skills to be able to interpret and drive performance analytics
Energetic and self-motivated
Stakeholder management, influencing & presentation/oral communication skills
Willingness to undertake some domestic/international travel (as required)
Desirable:
RPA or other automation technology experience
Awareness of IT development quality management frameworks e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley or Good Manufacturing Practices
Experience of MicroStrategy or other business intelligence tools
Experience of system delivery in the Pharma industry
