ABB Robotics provides manufacturers, and selected partners, with ingenious, efficient and reliable industrial robots, and robot-based systems, that elevate the nature of work and improve productivity, workplace safety and process quality. This is a Designer role reporting to the Engineering Manager II in the Business - Robotics & Discrete Automation located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• Developing the monitoring and control system for robot cells or lines. Working together with ABB global team for digital development and support work.
• Building modularized robot welding & cutting application function package, focusing on software module in industrial computer and Robot Teach Pendant.
• Standardizing engineering programs of robotic cells, optimizing robot programs according to new engineering requirements
• Designing related algorithms to fulfill the project requirements. Working on research and using the new equipment or sensors to develop the new applications based on ABB robot.
• Writing software related technical document, providing technical support for engineering projects, organizing knowledge sharing periodically.

Your background

• A master’s degree with major in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Must have 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Familiar with Linux system, such as Ubuntu, Database system development, such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL; familiarity with C and C++, master one Windows GUI Library and related development experience is must.
• Familiar with C#, Master .Net Development, PLC and Fieldbus, ability to finish configuration and basic programming.
• HMI (Human Machine Interface) design, data acquisition and analysis, digital image processing and knowledge and experience in robot related application are preferred.
• Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to learn quickly, passionate in research, a good team player.
