Job Description

Bespoke Engineering

  • Undertaking research on various concepts, materials, production technologies, and automotive legislation relevant to the scope of the features developed
  • Estimating costs required to support the design and validation of the bespoke features
  • Creating Requirements Specifications to support the quotation process used with external suppliers
  • Conducting Risk Analysis and creating DFMEAs to support the maturation of concept design
  • Identifying the testing required to validate a bespoke feature using internal standards and Design of Experiments where required.
  • Creating/Analysing 3D CAD Models and 2D drawings in preparation for release
  • Supporting planning of critical development meetings with wider stakeholders across the group
  • Supporting the Lead Engineer by developing innovative tracking methods/system
 
  • Degree in progress for Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in an New Product Development environment would be advantageou
  • Basic CAD competence
  • Ability to create 2D engineering drawing
  • A sound knowledge of various production technologies used to process metals, plastics and ideally including wood & leather
  • An understanding of vehicle and component measurement/validation systems - IT capability in using Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and ideally knowledge of BMW Group Engineering systems
  • Ability to self-motivate with a flexible approach to delivering business orientated targets in short project timelines
