Job Description

Royal Service Agent
The Royal Service Department is the communication department for Fairmont Palliser Hotel, in which all internal and external telecommunications are performed.  A Royal Service Agent must feel comfortable in an empowered atmosphere and show strong organizational, leadership and technical skills in order to communicate efficiently within the department and with other departments throughout the hotel.

    What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for tracking of internal information and communication within The Fairmont and Royal Service Standards and ProceduresResponsible for all internal and external telephone communication for the hotel
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring all Lost 'n' Found for the hotel is properly logged and shipped to guests within the Royal Service Standards and Policies
  • Responsible for ensuring the pre-arrival of all Fairmont President's Club Member's to the hotel
  • Managing all wake-up calls for guests
  • Responsible for researching information and formatting the hotel's communication tool of myPAL and myPAL's VIP List 
  • Maintain and ensure all 405 guests telephones are in operating condition
  • Responsible for acting as liaison between Fairmont Palliser guests and other departments
  • Responsible for Work Center functions when Work Center is closed
  • Responsible for all Boardroom Bookings for the Work Center Boardroom
  • Co-ordinates DID hook-ups 
  • Responsible for insuring all AddVenture Bookings are performed to Fairmont Standards and performed within the Fairmont Standard time frame
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship between the Housekeeping Department, Maintenance Department, Front Desk Department, and the Banquets Department
  • Responsible for pre-keying of all Tours and major Groups for the hotel
  • Promotes hotel services and amenities to encourage an exceptional resort experience
  • Process all duties with accuracy and efficiency
  • Work in a non-supervised environment and take ownership for independent decisions made in best interest of the guest experience

    Your experience and skills include:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills through verbal or written
  • Minimum of two years experience in the hotel industry
  • Strong computer skills in WordPerfect and Microsoft Excel is compulsory
  • Knowledge of LANmark and Microsoft Outlook an asset
  • Post secondary education in Hotel and Restaurant Management an asset
  • Be able to type 30 words per minutes an asset
  • Must be able to take initiative and work well in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work shift work
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Previous Switchboard, Front Desk or Royal Service experience an asset
  • Empathetic tendencies and compulsion to exceed guest/co-worker
