Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies like Analytics, SAP Leonardo Machine Learning and IoT across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Cloud strategy is the key of success for SAP in the future, Database as a Service is cornerstone of all Cloud service of the SAP applications.

SAP offers a solution that consists of the newly build SAP Database as a Service solution, it relies on SAP’s leader data management platform SAP HANA and includes Enterprise Intelligent capabilities.

Our team has the mission to design and develop a massively scalable, multi-tenant aware, extremely fast and stable Database as a Service solution that runs in multi-cloud environments.

A central part of the system is a serverless infrastructure for data flow execution based on containers and Kubernetes. On top of this infrastructure we develop our next generation Database as a Service solution powered by HANA.

We are looking for people to build up a HaaS Developer team for the SAP Database as a Service solutions in China.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a HaaS Developer Engineer you will be responsible to develop, deploy, test and sustain our Database as a Service solution on Cloud.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 10+ years work experience on industry
• Self-motivation plus strong problem-solving capacity
• Strong software design work experience, familiar with principle of design pattern
• Strong python or Go programming skills
• Strong SQL programming database knowledge
• Strong database OLTP and OLAP application knowledge, Familiar with one of the following relational database systems: Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, or Informix.
• Strong Experience in working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible)
• Strong Experience in hosting applications in virtualized environments such as Ali Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Fluent English both spoken and written
