- Identify and implement SCI methods to match project objectives while capturing the understanding of the changing consumption habits and taste preferences.
- Generate sensory and consumer data:
- Be at ease with discriminative and descriptive sensory methods
- Design quantitative consumer tests
- Conduct qualitative consumer research (from creating moderator guides to moderating)
- Comfortable with creative problem solving and projective techniques
- Effectively utilize sensory and consumer data to guide the flavor development process
- Efficiently manage resources (time, budget, workforce, etc.) and competing priorities, delivering daily commercial needs for reactive projects while managing proactive projects.
- Align the prioritization and coordination of SCI activities according to the strategy defined by the Regional Director SCI Taste GA.
- Analyze complex consumer and sensory data using statistical models.
- Translate effectively raw data into insights and actionable recommendations that support the development of flavors.
- Interpret sensory and consumer insight findings into impactful presentations
- Present findings to internal stakeholders and customers to guide development and showcase consumer understanding in the flavors developed.
- Advanced skills in SCI methodologies and data analysis: training in qualitative research methods, sensory tools and expertise in statistics
- Proficiency with statistical programs such as R and Excel Sta
- Learning agility and drive for results, creativity and problem solving
- Effective team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Leads by influencing others, can ensure most relevant support is provided despite continuous changes, time or business pressure
- Works autonomously on given tasks with minimal reviews by Director
- Business knowledge and understanding
- BS in Sensory Science, Food Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology or related disciplines,
- Minimum experience of 3-6 years in sensory and consumer insights related fields
- Fluent in English, Mandarin

He/she will drive and manage sensory and consumer insight projects according to IFF strategy and in coordination with SCI team members. As Sensory & Consumer Insights Researchers, we represent the voice of the consumer within IFF and help to drive regional sales and win rate by implementing research designs and effectively managing resources to ensure we create tastes that consumers love.
About You:
In this role, you will manage Sensory and Consumer Insight (SCI) research projects for the China Flavors business; Identify and recommend SCI methodologies for proactive category initiatives and reactive customer projects; Responsible for providing Sensory and Consumer Insight expertise in the design, execution, analysis, reporting and taste guidance; Participate on cross functional regional teams and/or on major SCI projects, act as SCI lead.
