Provide process advisory services to Group / BU Investment Department and Asset Management Companies and improve Investment processes by bringing along Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge on Front / Middle / Back Office related processes and systems, particularly on the art to balance relevant operational risks and controls versus approach to enhance efficiency and effectively.

Job Description:

Weightage of Operational Excellence / Investment Control tasks:

• Operational Risk / PQA Review (20%)
• Network Management (10%)
• Innovation and Business Process Advisory (70%)

Operational Risk / PQA Review

• Assist BU Investment CIO / AMC CEO to monitor Standard, Policy and Procedure implementation so as to compliant with Group Investment Governance Framework and local requirements
• Assist BU / AMC Investment on operational risk (Risk & Control Assessment) management and assessment and the roll-out of the e-GRC system

Service Vendor Management

• Evaluate and implement outsourcing options that align to the desired systems and services of the business, its systems and processes
• Analyzes and reports on third party service vendor performance, such as custody and fund administration service providers
• Manages the service level review and periodic Steering Committee meetings with strategic service vendors and ensures that their performance meets the organization's requirements 

Innovation and Business Process Advisory

• Provide SME or project management expertise in AIA Investment Projects
• Coordinate and act as Investment representative in cross-functional projects involving multiple departments
• Lead process and control automation initiatives

Job Requirements:

• Education – Minimum undergraduate
• Work Experience – Minimum 20 years of experience, with relevant experience in investment front / middle / back office within an asset management company and be familiar with investment systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Moody GEM, Eagle IBOR, Aladdin) and processes.  Experience or knowledge on Investment Operations and Fund Operations is a must.
• Industry Experience - Experience with Buy-side or Sell-side Asset Management Companies is a must. Being with one of the major consulting firms or achievements that demonstrate his/her capabilities to be pioneer in bring new technologies or practices to former employers or clients is a plus. 
• Certifications/licenses – CIA, PMP, PRINCE2 or Six-sigma qualification is an advantage
• Language skills – English and an additional Asian language for markets that AIA operates.  Must be able to articulate clear ideas both spoken and written and be able to prepare reports and required documentation independently
• Communication skills – able to understand and communicate with people from different culture as a regional coordinator
