Job Description
Teaching & Instruction
Teach approximately 15-18 periods (40 minutes each) per week.
Support multilingual learners through scaffolded instruction, modeling, and language-aware teaching strategies.
Maintain a positive, student-centered classroom environment aligned with school expectations and behavioral norms.
Curriculum, Planning & Assessment
Contribute to lesson planning within shared department unit plans; take rotating responsibility for developing lesson materials for team use.
Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with departmental standards.
Participate in the creation, refinement, and grading of midterm and final examinations, with an emphasis on maintaining high academic and assessment standards.
Use data from student work, discussions, and assessments to inform instructional adjustments.
Professional Collaboration & Department Contribution
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain curriculum coherence, align assessments, and moderate grading.
Participate in weekly department meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives as required.
Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and improvement efforts within the SG History program
Student Support, Communication & School Responsibilities
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
Support school events and duties, including monitoring evening study several times per semester and participating in student-recruitment responsibilities (e.g., open house, demo lesson, admissions support).
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in History , literature, education, or a closely related field (required).
Teaching license and/or Master’s degree (preferred).
TESOL/EAL training (preferred).
AP, IB, or other advanced program experience (an asset).
Experience Prior successful teaching experience, preferably in an international school context.
Experience working with multilingual learners or in EAL-supportive environments is an advantage.
