Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting the to the Project SHE Manager/ Lead/ Officer, advise and assist project management in SHE implementation aligned with company core values.
- Advise and ensure compliance to company’s SHE policy, procedures and all applicable legislative requirements.
- Assist the SHE Manager/ Lead/ Officer in the implementation of project SHE management system.
- Conduct daily SHE inspections and act on non-compliance to SHE standards and conditions. It is expected that 90% of the time will be field based.
- Train and monitor workers’ safe work practices and behaviors. This includes reviewing training material and making suggestions to improve the training program.
- Maintain and monitor SHE records and checklists.
- Monitor the conduct toolbox meetings and pre-start talks.
- Act as safety assessors in assessing and inspecting work areas for Permit to Work systems and make recommendations, if any, to work supervisors/ permit to work applicants to rectify or improve prior to commencement of work activities.
- Monitor compliance to risk assessments and work method statement and make recommendations to ensure safe working methods.
- Investigate all incidents, advise corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence, and assist in reports preparation.
- Support the SHE committee as required.
- Support a Safe Behavior coaching program.
Requirements
- Taiwan Occupational Safety or Health Management Certificate as a minimum. Additionally, the Occupational Safety and Health Affairs Manager Certificate would be an advantage.
- Diploma or Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management or a related subject is preferable.
- Other Safety and Health related certification recognized by the Taiwan authorities.
- Minimum 5 years professional related experience in Environment, Health, Safety industry. Experience in an Engineering and Construction environment is a distinct advantage.
- Must be willing to work on projects located across Taiwan.
- Good Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health, and Environmental statutory requirements and best practices.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
- Able to communicate in English would be preferable but not essential.
Expatriates may apply and are considered but will be required to sit a Taiwanese recognized Safety and Health Qualification, as prescribed by the company. Additionally, expatriates should be able to competently converse in Chinese and English.
