Job Description
Job Summary Responsible to design, validate and implement manufacturing systems; including process documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product. An Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses. Job Responsibilities Supports Production Area, contribute to the SQDCI metrics of the focus factory. Participate on required meetings related to the focus factory, participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes) Defines and implement safety machine guarding to manufacturing equipment as per Eaton requirements Create, design, validate and implement manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, Control plan, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls. Participate on quality system improvements and implement changes accordingly Develop and implement tools as per new or revised requirements (standard tooling) and new design fixtures for assembly (fixtures, stencils, wave pallets) Establishes preventive maintenance program for new assembly systems or stations. Create reports, graphics and Statistical Process Control dashboards and responds to out of goal measurements. Develop and implement Industry 4.0 initiatives linked to an automotive mindset Develop and implement product changes such as ECO’s and deviations. Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing system), Uses daily production data (yields/thru-put/etc.) to develop and execute corrective actions plans to drive continuous improvement. Routing management in the ERP system (SAP), Participate during layout changes. EHS Responsibilities: Separate hazardous waste from the common waste. Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers. Keep clean the work área contaminant free. Do not waste water. Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment. Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment. Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills). Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to mantain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them. Contain oil spills and repair as necessary. Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar). Years and area of experience required: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and equipment areas and/or similar position. 1-3 years of experience on building electronic products (SMT, assembly, wave solder, mechanical assembly, coating, magnetics and wire assembly, spot welding, encapsulated, packing and labeling, etc. Technical knowledge: Strong Knowledge on low value high mix environment driving more than 800 sub –assembly part numbers and more than 5,500-part numbers for raw material, 2 years of experience solving QA issues, implementing process controls and process improvements. Soft skills: Strong knowledge of process for electronic products, Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC- WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/21 soldering requirements, Basic knowledge of TS16949 standard, highly skilled on solid works, project, auto cad, view mate and MFG Pro Management (preferred), This position drives the core competency of the plant, the latest technology for electronic assemblies is been utilize on the SMT area #LI-AM4 What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
