SUMMARY: This position conducts Supplier Quality Activities such as Supplier Qualification Audits, Supplier Re-Qualification Audits, Controlled Shipping Validation, Corrective Action Processing and Validation, Supplier Surveillance (Supplier self-Inspection data) verification, Product Validation, First Article Inspection, coordination of external and internal product testing, and incoming MRB. Work harmoniously together with Supplier Development Engineer (SDE).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties will be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supplier Qualification Review both technical and non-technical (work place conditions, C-TPAT, etc.)
• Continual supplier monitoring to ensure passing status of new saleable product to Dorman and Customers.
• Maintain/Develop the Incoming material data system for both external (Supplier) and Internal (Dorman Receiving Inspection)
• Elimination of repeat of product issues at same and other suppliers through Drill Deep & Wide investigations.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Continuous supplier weakness identification and implementation of improvement plan.
• Participate in cross-functional teams as required.
• Support HQ initiated CAPA to suppliers to contain, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
• Support product development and reverse engineering functions as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Preferred Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a technical field from four-year College or University; and minimum 2 years related experience in auto industry.

Working knowledge of Manufacturing with interaction with shop floor processes.

Experience Requirements:

• Communicate proficiently verbally and written, in English and Chinese.
• Working knowledge of TS-16949 quality systems or similar i.e.AS-9100, ISO-9000
• Auditing (Internal, Supplier, Corrective Action validation, Product, Process);
• Auditing experience of CSR (corporation social compliance, work place conditions, GSV/C-TPAT) was preferred.
• Working experience of APQP, PPAP, and MSA.
• Working experience of Calibration.
• Minimum two (2) years experience in root cause analysis/problem solving
• Participated / Lead Continuous Improvement activities.
• Working Knowledge of product qualification testing, inspection tools and equipment, and supplier quality activities.
• Familiar with automotive vehicle components
• Familiar with knowledge of common parts and manufacturing process, such as plastics, stamping, rubber, casting, machining, forging, etc.
• Familiar with knowledge of electronics parts and manufacturing process will be a plus.
• Familiar with GD&T and can understand drawing related with parts of mechanical and/or electrical.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with focus on Excel and Access
• Experience in a cross-functional team environment.
• Knowledge of materials, finishes, and specifications (SAE, ASME, ANSI, etc)
• Experience in global manufacturing and distribution environment preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, Procedure, Instructions and Manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, clients, customers, and the general public.
