We are changing the way Micron thinks about IT solution development and are looking for an experienced Manufacturing IT Development Manager (Backend) to help lead the transformation within worldwide Manufacturing IT.


For this role, we want someone with demonstrated ability to set a strategic direction for our Backend Manufacturing systems and execute that strategy to make valuable contributions to our manufacturing environment through system implementation. A successful candidate is business-focused and collaborative and enjoys solving tough business problems. You will drive highly innovative solutions and be enthusiastic about user experience and worldwide IT alignment.


This position will be located in Singapore/ Taiwan where you will be working in a fast-paced, iterative environment that also affords the stability of a global, established and high-reaching technology company. You will work with IT and business partners to help define solution strategies, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, and create best of breed solution experiences that will set the standard for future development. You should be familiar with modern software development methodologies and able to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Define, execute, and lead the development strategy for the Backend Development Team
  • Act as a change management leader in transforming the team to deliver high quality solutions in a fast paced environment
  • Act as the embodiment of the agile mindset; lead teams in iterative product development using Lean principles and a quality-first approach to development
  • Bring a good technical foundation; be able to engage the team on architecture and design and deep-dive on complex solutions, platforms and interface design
  • Collaborate with business partners and IT Architects to develop product roadmaps and execute against a solution backlog
  • Ensure solution releases meet the highest standard in terms of end user experience, quality and performance
  • Partner with peers across worldwide Manufacturing IT Teams to see opportunities for code sharing, common services, joint development, reduced redundancy, etc.
  • Demonstrate accountability; lead people with passion, enthusiasm, loyalty and integrity
  • Own and lead HR processes such as employee engagement, performance reviews, talent development, etc.
  • Collaborate with worldwide Mfg IT Teams on investment strategy and find opportunities to support business needs with mobile solutions
  • Support and guide the development process and collaborate across multiple cross‐functional teams to execute on achievements and work
  • Anticipate risks and issues that may arise during the delivery of the portfolio process and ensure that mitigation actions are in place
  • Engage in resourcing processes to ensure organizational agility
  • Own and build a culture that creates one global Manufacturing IT team
  • Engage as an authentic leader within the IT Manufacturing leadership team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years in software and solution engineering and as a good technical solution provider
  • Ability to provide vision and execution to align with a strategic plan
  • Excellent social skills and ability to partner with senior leadership to push technology forward
  • Capable of leading technology change with excellent strategic and technical thought leadership
  • Solid skills in decision-making, prioritization and negotiation
  • Ability to retain and engage top talent with technical skills alongside design sensibility and emotional intelligence
  • Drive and accountability to lead others to excellence
  • Solid experience and capabilities in building high performance, self-managing, global and cross-functional teams
  • Successful in driving strategic change in resourcing, tools and process

Education:

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
