We are seeking for a Performance Architect for new instructions and other SW visible technologies across the entire CPU design life cycle. In this role, you will partner in the development of next generation breakthrough technologies for Intel’s flagship CPUs. The goal of these technologies is to achieve a significant breakthrough in user perceivable performance/efficiency.
Job responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Prototype HW and/or SW to demonstrate new technologies and then fine tune the definition to achieve the desired results
Workload analysis for the purpose of identifying and root causing performance bottlenecks and then proposing solutions in HW or in SW
Interaction with customers to root cause new performance issues and for general advice, becoming the second level of support to our Application Engineers.
Define and develop methods and automation to test and track the performance of new features over time. Run and track periodic regressions.
Flag, identify and root cause violations to the performance requirements and recommend technical proposals to fix such cases
Qualifications
Minimal requirements:
- An academical degree in Computer Science, or Electrical/Computer Engineering from a recognized university
- At least 3 years of experience with: C \ C++ \ Python
Advantage to candidates with experience in one or more of:
- Development of SW tools, simulators, emulators . Or alternatively strong experience in SW development and willingness to learn and participate in this.
- Experience in performance optimization a strong advantage
- Knowledge of modern CPU microarchitectures
- Knowledge of the Intel Architecture
