Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager

AstraZeneca’s manufacturing site in North Ryde are looking for an experienced or up and coming SHE Manager to provide SHE leadership and strategic direction for our site.

What you’ll do

Creating a healthy and safe working environment are of critical importance to our site in North Ryde. This includes efforts to limit safety hazards for employees through proper design, engineering and preventative maintenance, and embedding a safety, health and environment (SHE) culture across the site.

As the new SHE Manager, your role will lead a small team and incorporate the development of annual strategic and operational plans with KPIs to mitigate risk and minimise harm to our employees and contractors across our manufacturing site in North Ryde.

You will embed an overarching culture focused on safety, employee wellbeing and sustainability, ensuring that all activities and staff comply with the relevant standards and that plans for the continuous improvement of the performance of Safety, Health and Environment are implemented and monitored.

We are looking for a hands-on leader, as this role will balance leadership activity and hands on delivery. Critical to your success in this role will be your ability to influence and empower all employees to take ownership and contribute to site safety and sustainability.

Experience for the role

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, FMCG, Medical Devices or other relevant site based SHE role.
  • Experience in Return to Work
  • Trained professional with understanding of SHE management system components, methodology, values and relevant standards and code of practice
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Legislation
  • Experience in dealing with SHE Legal matters
  • Experience liaising with Regulatory bodies e.g. SafeWork & EPA
  • Strong Communication, Engagement, Interpersonal and people management skills

Desirable for the role

  • Workplace Trainer & Assessor Cert IV
  • SHE Management System Auditing Qualification
