Job Description
Roles:

• Manage SATS HK’s Safety section and ensure compliance with the Hong Kong Labour Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance
• Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and day-to-day administration of the SMS throughout SATS HK, including all stations, on behalf of the Accountable Executive and senior management

Accountabilities:

• Manage a large workforce to meet the service levels and productivity
• Identify and develop best practice
• Regular review of the all system and operational control procedures in SATS HK Safety Management System (SMS)
• Ensure that SATS HK SMS is in compliance with latest ISAGO requirements
• Monitor compliance with SMS at both operational and management level
• Maintain risk registry and database of risk assessments
• Perform analysis of safety incidents and propose preventive measures
• Review and revise the SATS HK Safety Management System Manual
• Conduct activities/campaigns to promote safety awareness, and targeted at enhancing work safety culture in SATS HK
• Benchmark against industrial best practice and evaluate for adoption and implementation
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with airlines, Airport Authority or other external parties for all aspects of corporate safety
• Assist in ad hoc projects and companywide events as assigned by the management
• Assist in planning and implementing safety initiatives
• Coordinate and organize safety related events/promotions
• Comply with all regulations and requirements with regards to health, safety and security set by the Company and relevant authorities while on duty
• Take reasonable care of the health and safety of self and of others

Capabilities and Experience:

• Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent
• 5 years of job-related experience required
• Registered Safety Officer in Labour Department preferred
• Excellent command in both written and spoken English
• Driving license class 1 & 2 is a must
• Keen analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
• Good knowledge of all aspects related to occupational safety and airport safety
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to multi-task, lead and manage in high pressure and time critical environment
• Ability to work on own initiative
