In this position, you will support the eMobility Mechatronics Group by becoming the lead for Advanced Safety Systems integration, which is critical for the vehicle and its surroundings. You will ensure correct integration and calibration of the existing and new safety systems as they interface with the electric powertrain. You will work with global teams to deliver electric trucks for the NAFTA market. This is an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our engineering department, customers and network.
 
Responsibilities
- Support companywide development and launch of electric mobility at Daimler Trucks.

- Support NAFTA requirements & application specification of safety systems development (Hardware and Software).

- Integration of existing production Safety Systems (Radar, Camera, Object Detection, etc.) into electric powertrains.

- Create feature specifications for safety system features and adaption of existing features for electric powertrains.

- Document safety system wiring designs in production documentation systems.

- Coordinate requirements collection and implementation of safety system features with business partners and development teams.

- Provide technical support to suppliers and other departments within the Daimler Trucks organization as necessary, such as Product Validation engineering. Manufacturing engineering, Service engineering, IT or Quality.

- Parameter and Controls integration, calibration, debugging, root-causing and validation of safety systems for electric powertrains.

- Test case development, execution of tests, and documentation of results.

- Support other systems’ SW/controls development as required.

- Release parameters and final calibration into production system ensuring customer requirements are met.

- Broaden expertise outside of immediate responsibilities and become an expert in eMobility topics.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree focused in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience required


- An attached resume is required


- Experience with CAN communication protocols and tools required


- Must be well organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management required


- Customer orientated with a real sense for the marketplace required

- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements required


- Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated required

Preferred Qualifications 
- Experience with vehicle ECU diagnostic protocols and tools preferred


- Experience with assembling, diagnosing or troubleshooting DTNA products preferred


- Experience with design and integration of safety systems (ADAS) preferred


- Languages: English (fluent); German (Intermediate) preferred; additional language(s) preferred.
