Job Description

Eaton’s eMobility division is currently seeking am Account Manager to join our team. This position can be based in either Minneapolis, MN or the Chicago, IL area.   

Position Overview:

The primary function of this position is to drive growth and customer satisfaction with key OEM customers and integrators in the commercial vehicle, agriculture, construction, specialty, and military vehicle segments by executing annual business plans and customer strategies.  This includes electrical solutions for power distribution, power conversion, power management, circuit protection and controls, including switches and keypads. This involves recommendation of existing product and defining capabilities and requirements for new designs.

In this function you will:

  • Facilitate and drive design wins and achieve design-in position for eMobility products, including power distribution, power conversion, power management, circuit protection and controls by leading major new business capture campaigns utilizing the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) 7 stage selling process and tool.
  • Acts as the “voice of the customer” for all business aspects.  Is the Customer Needs and Wants (CNW) expert for the account; gathers and communicates advanced technology and market trends through a deep understanding of the customers’ business, strategic direction, challenges, threats and opportunities.
  • Independently develops and grows select OEM customer base in the agriculture, construction and specialty vehicle industries by developing and executing a successful platform driven, sales strategy utilizing Eaton’s value cycle skills. 
  • Drive product acceptance with NA based customers and collaborate with international account managers on a global level for international or multi-national customers.
  • Develops and manages key relationships at customer executive levels. Owns the customer
    relationship map and manages a contact plan.
  • Develops and maintains a strong business links with other Eaton businesses that service like customers and markets.
  • Provides competitive intelligence on peer company / competitor activities at the account
  • Perform other duties as required to achieve departmental and business objectives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Additional language skills a plus
  • Technical/selling ability as it relates to vehicle electronics, hydraulics, CAN communications, basic electricity, and mechanical technology.
  • 5+ years commercial or technical experience in the on/off road commercial vehicle market preferred.
  • Experience with C360 Sales software

 

Position Criteria:

  • 5 years of experience managing large multi-location high profile strategic accounts
  • Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written - with ability to make reports to
  • Eaton Executive level and presentations to the highest level within the customer organization.
  • Strong professional presence inspiring respect at the customers and within Eaton
  • Strong ability to influence the directions and attainment of objectives without having direct
  • control over resources. Ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to think “Out of the Box” and provide innovative solution.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Business Software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledgeable in the sales cycle and business development.
  • Strong change and adaptability skills as well as business acumen (Corporate Structure, Field Sales, etc.)
  • Strong team player that actively contributes to the group’s success
  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload
