Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Sales Development Program is designed to accelerate early career development of high potential recent college graduates to prepare them for mobile careers within our sales organizations.   If you love sales and are interested in science, this program is for you and is a great way to build your career with a global leader in science.     


What will the Sales Development Program offer you?        

  • Three-month full-time development program designed to prepare recent college graduates for a career in sales in one of our divisions by providing commercial and product training with real-world experiences 
  • Structured classroom learning of professional skill set development, marketplace/industry knowledge, and company operations 
  • Job shadow with salespeople and various subject matter experts 
  • Learning sessions held at various sites such as customer service center, distribution warehouses, manufacturing, direct sales, etc. to enhance company/industry knowledge 
  • Dedicated leaders and mentors  
  • Field sales observation and exposure to commercial leaders 
  • Customer account exposure 
  • Upon successful program completion, program participants will be deployed into field-based sales roles within Thermo Fisher 

Education:    
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Science (Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or Sales focused degree preferred 

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:    
  • Previous work experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry, or relative internship or COOP experiences 
  • Proven track record of establishing goals and achieving results 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills in addition to strong professional presence   
  • Demonstrated learning agility and leadership ability 
  • Ability to comprehend, utilize, and communicate technical information to customers 
  • Able to demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific’s values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement 
  • Advanced PC skills, Microsoft Office products, and cloud-based tools 
  • Must be able to travel extensively throughout the sales development program 
  • Geographic flexibility in the US required to destination city upon program completion which will be determined based on business needs 
  • Authorization to work in the US without restrictions
